The National Eagle Center is ready to kick-off another exciting season of SOAR celebrations with its SOAR: Spring Hatch festival March 23-24. The Center is excited to welcome back longtime friends and fan favorites Wings to Soar for the first time since 2019.

The National Eagle Center is ready to kick off another exciting season of SOAR celebrations with its SOAR: Spring Hatch festival March 23-24.

The Center is excited to welcome back longtime friends and fan favorites Wings to Soar for the first time since 2019Wings to Soar will be the weekend’s feature presentation with their educational and high-energy flying raptor program at St. Felix Auditorium in downtown Wabasha. Among the species attendees will meet are an albino Barred Owl, Peregrine Falcon, Harris Hawk, Black Vulture, Bald Eagle, and Red-tailed Hawk.

SOAR: Spring Hatch will also feature several premium experiences and special exhibitors throughout the weekend. Guests can register for Eagle Viewing Habitat Tour, Behind the Scenes tours, and exclusive guided tours of the American Eagle Collection archives which houses over 40,000 eagle artifacts, art, and ephemera from throughout American history.

Special weekend exhibitors will include the International Wolf Center, MN DNR Non-Game Wildlife, and Lac Coutre Oreilles Band of Ojibwe craftsman Dick Mindykowski.

Family and children’s activities will include a button-making station where guests can make a button featuring their favorite ambassador, a new birdhouse decorating station, and storytime with Minnesota author Merici Huggins as she reads from her book My Little Eagle: Theo Learns to Fly.

Standard admission prices will apply during the festival: $12 for adults and $10 for youth (4-16). Children ages 3 and under and National Eagle Center members enjoy FREE admission. Activity-duty military personnel and US veterans receive complimentary admission. All program seats will cost $3. Premium field trip and Behind the Scenes experiences will cost $75 per person in addition to admission. Capacity for those experiences is limited.

The SOAR: Summer Splash event is scheduled for June 22-23 and SOAR: Fall Flight is scheduled for September 21-22.
